Gimmie Some of That!

This morning Deacon looks at me like he's said this a hundred times: "I want chocolate milk!" It sounded more like "Ah wan chockey malk" but it was adorable! I obliged because I couldn't believe he just asked like that! The big boys didn't have chocolate milk until years later and, at that, they probably never asked for it.

The things this kid says are too funny. Today, at karate class he heard "Yes, Ma'am" so he walked around saying that instead of just "yes."

He Walks!

Mr. Deacon wasn't too concerned with walking, but he's finally gotten the hang of things! He even grew out of his 6-12 month Pedi Peds and got a new pair of See Kai Run shoes. If they're not on his feet and he sees them, I get screamed at until they are!

He's such a cutie!

A Quick Trip: Washington D.C.

I started this post on 8/15...it's now the 30th! Yikes!

Here are pictures from our super quick trip to Washington, D.C. We'll definitely be going
again!

The Summer I Drove...a lot!

I knew this summer was going to be an adventure, but I had no idea I'd drive over 2,000 miles! Luckily, my dad did an 800 mile leg with me (over night from our house in VA to FL). It was exhausting and to say I was happy to come home (to a super dusty house and a fried modem) is putting it lightly! We had a great time seeing family and friends but there really is nothing like being in your own bed at night. On top of coming home, we're back together with Daddy again. He was gone for three months for his "learn to be a captain" school.

We hung out with cousins...

Celebrated birthdays...

Ran races...

Let Deacon indulge in the finer things in life...

Soaked in lots of pool time...

And outdoor tub time...

We enjoyed water hoses...

And more cousin love...

Played with Florida bugs...

And went fishing for the first time...

We ate lollipops and held squid...at the same time..

And did a lot of hanging out with grandparents...

The craziest part is we grew...

And grew....

And grew...

What a busy summer! It's not over yet, we still have Turner's birthday to go!

The 3rd Child

A year ago, the most incredible day of my life took place and this little boy joined our family.
(photos from my fabulous friend Christy)

The feeling I get after looking at this sweet baby is the same a year later.  He is an absolute angel (and I hate saying that!), and a joy to have (I hate saying that, too). Really, after a complete anxiety attack when I found out I was pregnant, he gave me nothing to fret over.

Deacon James is sweet, loving, calm, but assertive. He has learned, in is one year, that to be heard in this family, you have to be loud. He's also learned that life might be rough but he's loved.

I can't believe this third boy is mine to raise. He is still waking at weird hours of the night, but I smile (after ample coffee) because my heart is so full.

Happiest of birthdays, little man! I can't wait to see what the future holds!

Deacon is my baby.

My baby is ONE!

Ah, Newport in the SUMMER!

Um, er, fall...or spring. The weather up here isn't sure what it wants to do yet. It's very cool and I only have summer clothes for myself and the kids! Oh well... Despite the weather,
we're excited to spend some time with John. He's in Newport, RI "to learn to be the captain of the ship," according to Turner.

We drove from New Jersey, straight to the "hotel" (aka bachelor quarters). The room is split in to two areas so its better than I thought it was going to be!

We headed straight downtown for pizza and ice cream. The kids really enjoyed running around on the grassy square in the middle of town.
How does he do that with his eyebrows?!?

Daddy, always the indulgent one.

Bruddahs!

Deacon learned to spit and kept doing it on John's shirt.

Some wrestle time with Daddy.

Rest time.

John's yacht. Uh, totally joking....

Enjoying a chocolate covered marshmallow, after a dinner of pizza a dessert of ice cream.

I'm hoping the weekend plans include a visit to Boston and Plymouth, MA. Tomorrow is supposed to be rainy and the kids have already learned the art of bouncing off the walls in the room. There isn't much to do indoors with kids here on the island so I bet I'll be doing a lot of driving around!

Le Sigh

Alright, let's just get it over with already. Three months, just three: half of a deployment, a quarter of year. No big. Let's just do it.

Really, it sucks. The kids get all wonky and who wants to be without their right hand man? But, c'est la vie. I'll suck it up, for now, since I at least get to talk to him at night.

In other news, Deacon finally had his nine month check up with the much hated Tri Care clinic. I was able to hold my tongue long enough for them to weigh and measure him. At 18 pounds, he's the smallest Baggett, ever. Apparently, he is in the 9th percentile for weight. He is much thinner than the other two beasts (90 percentile for height and weight during the baby year) but still a healthy boy.

Don't let him fool you! He army crawls like a maniac but could care less about
being on all fours!
Having John around all week was so nice. I was treated to shopping sprees (oh yeah! plural, baby!)  and treats.
Turner and John ran in to the Twisted Sister Cupcake van on base today!

Sweet chaos.
John promised the boys a campout but it's been a little cool outside. So, for our little people that hang on every promise...
They watched Wall-E and "camped" with Daddy.

Let's hope the next few months fly by. I hate wishing time away, but solo parenting is no bueno.
